SOMATIC HEALING
(GROUP CLASS)

This class is catered towards adults who need space to regulate their nervous system and reconnect with their bodies.

 

Using various movement based therapy techniques (Somatic Therapy/ Martha Graham Technique/ CBT and DBT and EMDR etc), it is a safe space to take a break from the world, release tension, and process emotion through movement.

What is Somatic Healing Dance Class?

 

Somatic Healing Dance focuses on the internal experience of movement (how it FEELS) rather than the external appearance of how our movement looks. This is a self soothing practice that helps build inner alignment, bodily health/ freedom, and a peaceful mind. You will learn to reconnect with the body and mind through nervous system regulation, listening to the messages stuck within the body, and creating a safe space in your internal and external world. 

You will learn to:

  • Develop more awareness of your body and its sensations

  • Call upon emotional resources

  • Ground/ Use meditation and breathing techniques to regulate the nervous system

  • Safely act out of physical feelings using movement 

  •  Use tools to calm oneself and regulate your nervous system 

  • Alternate focus between something stressful and something not stressful to help release tension 

  • Replay past situations with new physical tools that make you feel safer 

  • Feel emotional release 

  • Strengthen boundaries and how to communicate that both physically, verbally, and emotionally

  • Create a safe space in your body and in your environment

We will explore:

  • Innerbody Awareness/ Boundary Exploration to move out of negative space 

  • Meditation Movement + stretch 

  • Breathing Technique and Movement 

  • Somatic Healing - Emotional Processing Through Movement  

  • Creative Movement Exploration + Freestyle Jam Session 

  • Self Acceptance and Inner Confidence Building Through Movement

  • Safe Space/Inner peace + I am movement
