 (ONE-ON-ONE COACHING)

This class is catered towards adults who need space to regulate their nervous system and reconnect with their bodies and want to do it in the privacy of one on one sessions.

I know how that feels.

Growing up as a former refugee from a totalitarian regime, I struggled greatly to connect to myself. After experiencing decades of generational abuse and trauma (sexual assaults, bullying/ abuse, heartbreak, mental health issues with depression/ CPTSD, Pelvic floor chronic pain and myalgia dysfunction called Neuro-proliferative Vestibulodynia/ Vulvodynia, Immune System disorders, near death traumatic events, medical trauma/ post surgery complications, etc) I struggled for years to find a self healing/ self soothing technique.

Throughout my childhood I found solace and safety through performing arts. I never realized until adulthood that at an early age I was incorporating somatic healing through music and movement. Although working through trauma in therapy helped me a great deal, I felt disconnected with the body. That is when I discovered Somatic Therapy. 

 

This healing method helped me release decades of emotional dysregulation and trauma stuck in my body. It also helped me to create a safe space by learning to reinforce boundaries, let go of codependency, and helped me regulate my nervous system.

From then on I spent a decade teaching these techniques to the neuro-divergent and differently-abled community. I wanted to help a community that often lacks funding and an empathetic environment where they aren’t constantly told “no” and “that’s wrong”. I wanted to help teens and adults on the spectrum, non verbal/ Deaf/ HOH individuals and more to emotionally process through movement, find connection back to their body, creating a safe space for themselves, reestablishing boundaries, and re-align themselves with their body and mind connection.

I realized so many people struggle with these issues and I wasn’t the only one. I learned Somatic Therapy technique to help others find their own safety in themselves again. I want to help you release long standing emotional/ physical strife,  reestablish a safe environment by strengthening boundaries, and create a customized self soothing tool kit to connect to their bodies.

What is Somatic Healing?

 

This healing method emphasizes mindful and compassionate processing in the body through movement. This is a conscious process of focusing on the internal experience of movement (how it FEELS) rather than the external appearance of how it looks. Somatic movement is a self soothing practice that helps build inner alignment, bodily health/ freedom, and a peaceful mind. It can help chronic pain relief, retrain posture, and unlearn movement based patterns causing pain/ discomfort. You will learn to reconnect with the body and mind through nervous system regulation, listening to the messages stuck within the body, and creating a safe space in your internal and external world. This method is easily accessible to everyone.

Sessions will consist of:

​

  • Creating a customized plan towards catering to your unique needs and focusing on how we can reconnect you back to your body.

  • Learning vital techniques to help regulate your nervous system such as various breathing techniques, body scan, thought reframing, boundary formulation, etc.

  • Meditative Movement and Emotional regulation - processing our emotions through movement and learning to regulate ourselves after releasing our emotions 

  • CBT/ DBT/ Somatic Therapy techniques to work through emotions during difficult or triggering situations 

  • Creating a safety plan for nervous system regulation in difficult situations

You will learn to:

           

  • Develop more awareness of your body and its sensations

  • Call upon emotional resources

  • Ground/ Use meditation and breathing techniques to regulate the nervous system

  • Safely act out of physical feelings using movement 

  • Use tools to calm oneself and regulate your nervous system 

  • Alternate focus between something stressful and something not stressful to help release tension 

  • Replay past situations with new physical tools that make you feel safer 

  • Feel emotional release
